Liked: The place is pretty secure : front door is locked, there are a second door locked that you need to unlock and you can lock your room. You have a locker too (but check in the dislike section). The staff are really nice and they gave a really good map with interests and good restaurant choices. They even give a discount card for the major tourist museums, you save much money using it. It was quiet in the room since the rooms are not facing a busy street.

Disliked: Very small locker (you can barely fit a laptop bag in it). The two showers are on the last floor (4th). On last floor, there are windows on the ceilling (no curtains), you get the sun straight to your bed.

Liked: There was a common room/kitchen area downstairs which was clean and had room to relax although if the hostel had been full maybe this area would have felt cramped. There was free wi-fi although this only worked for me in the common area. The shower area shared by all the rooms on the floor I was on were clean and I never had to queue. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I was able to check-in early. The location of the hostel is good with a tram stop nearby and it is possible to walk to lots of places. I would recommend staying here and it is definitely much cleaner than many hostels I have stayed in. There is also a useful information wall opposite the reception area with ideas of what to do.

Disliked: I stayed in an 8-bed mixed dorm. Even though the room is relatively large there is not really anywhere to store your luggage if the room is full. There are lockable lockers on the ground floor but these can probably only fit small personal items. Noise in the hostel travels easily so that people who are down the corridor can be heard very clearly even with the doors shut. The directions for walking from the station to the hostel are a little confusing so I would recommend catching the tram.

Liked: Best hostel that I stayed in while in Japan. Had a great time and this hostel was the reason I stayed in Nagasaki for 8 days. Staff were great. Wifi did not work up in the dorms, but I got over it fast. Nice booze store store next store. Beautiful river and bridges in front of hostel. My best memory of my month in Japan. And the trams rock.

Disliked: The stairs were a pain, but good for me.

Liked: A great hostel- so lovely inside, the staff couldn't help you enough. Very nice atmosphere. Everything worked well and was well stocked. So much information about Nagasaki and all of Japan. Even postcards and stamps so you don't have to go to the post office to buy your stamps!! Very welcoming and friendly. Really nothing to complain about at all. :D

Liked: The staff was really helpful and kind and the place was spotless. It is easy to see why they have won so many awards. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and if I ever return to Nagasaki I will visit again!

Disliked: I did not dislike anything :-)
