Liked: It seemed quite clean. Its in a nice location a few blocks from Copacobana Beach. The showers are nice. Lockers are quite big.
Disliked: They are too strict with rules and regulations. The bar downstairs isnt open very often. The atmosphere isn't so great, largely becuase they dont allow guests at any hours which makes it an impossible meeting place. The staff can be quite rude. They turned away my visitors instead of informing me they arrived. Not very relaxed, friendly, easy going to make the stay more comfortable. Breakfast wasnt very nice, they ran out of most things. Carnaval was an anticlimax, and this hostel did nothing to make it more enjoyable.

Liked: the location was great.
Disliked: Staff were friendly but not very helpful unless you were using their services for example their tours. all dorms were single sex as well. cleaning staff very loud in the mornings and at times would walk into dorms to talk on their phones and stare out the window.

Liked: very close to the beach
Disliked: atmosphere did not feel homely, toilet did not flush properly, and slow to replace toilet paper that ran out, breakfast in a bar that smelt of beer.
