Disliked: This place stays in business because of hostelbookers.com. There are other backpackers in laucenston but they do not come up on the search making it appear as if this place is the only game in town. The kitchen is nearly unusable. Not well stocked with cookware, dirty, dishes piling up in sink. Lights go out but are not replaced. Internet computer has been down and does not appear to be getting fixed. The room smelled horrible. Had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to the room and the last flight of stairs was too narrow to carry a pack up.

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: No equipment in the kitchen. The kitchen is not clean, the management should take more care about the cleanliness in the kitchen. Just one wash machine, is always in use.

Liked: Walkable distance to everything in Launceston. The bathrooms were new and very clean.

Disliked: The kitchen left much to be desired. particularly the lack of cooking utensils, pots and pans, crockery etc.

Liked: The rooms and facilities on second floor seem to be renovated recently. They are nice, bright and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: the "fully equipped kitchens" don't have enough forks and big plates. The kitchen on ground floor is pretty dirty.

Liked: The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are clean. There's a kitchen downstairs for travelers to prepare their meals, and a pantry upstairs too.

Disliked: There is only one washing machine and one dryer, so if the hostel was fully-booked, you can forget about doing your laundry (which isn't free).
